Description: A seal carved from a gem found in the Idaean Cave on Crete shows a priestess holding a sea-shell trumpet. The imagery on this gem stone is full of symbols and has been interpreted as a representation of the sanctuary of Aphrodite in her character as a fertility Goddess and deity of the heavens and oceans. As well as the priestess holding the shell trumpet, the scene also includes an altar which has a pair of horns, along with what appears to be a tree of life and several other trees
