Description: The trumpet is rarely depicted in entertainment in ancient Egypt but one scene shows a trumpet playing for a group of dancing ladies. It is dated to between 1353 and 1336 BCE. As only the trumpet and the player’s hand are visible, it cannot be said what other instruments are involved on this occasion. It is possible that the ensemble may have contained melodic instruments such as the lyre.
